Your passport should be valid for the whole duration of your stay in Canada. The Port of entry officer may limit your stay into Canada till before the expiry date of your passport.

If you are not from an English speaking country (such as UK, Us, Australia, NZ and some parts of South Africa etc,) you will be asked to write IELTS test, or you can opt for CELPIP if you are applying within Canada.

You must satisfy the immigration officer that you meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and Regulations and that you will be in Canada for a temporary stay.

You must also:

  • Satisfy an officer that you will leave Canada at the end of the Visa period
  • Show that you have enough money to maintain yourself and your family members in Canada until you return the country of residence
  • No intent to work or study in Canada unless authorized to do so;
  • Be law abiding and have no record of criminal activity (you may be asked to provide a Police Clearance Certificate);
  • Must not be a security risk to Canada;
  • Produce any additional documents requested by the officer to establish your admissibility;
  • Be in good health (complete a medical examination, if required)

A permanent resident visa grants the privilege of living and working permanently in Canada. A Temporary resident visa is issued to a person with permanent residence outside of Canada, but who wishes to be in Canada on a temporary basis, for example tourism, medical treatment, business, temporary work or study.

The NOC is the authoritative resource on occupational information in Canada. NOC tools classify occupations with four digit codes according to skill type and skill level. The Express Entry program only accepts applications which belongs to NOC level O, A & B.
